It was a very busy week in the studio getting my line ready for the Alaska Wholesale Show. I did make time yesterday to work on some FUN projects -a small series of art quilts, revisiting the powerline theme I've worked on before. With fresh TAP transfer paper the images transferred better to the fabric. I'm going to do a bit of painting and embellishing before I free motion quilt the pieces.

While the mid January temperatures are staying at zero,  I'll wait for a bit warmer weather before I go back to work with the cold, hard steel! A perfect WARMER medium in the studio was creating some Monotypes on batik fabrics this week.

Using one of the printed fish, fabric transfers and applique I created a small art quilt that's 21" wide by 14" tall.
Finished a special commission this week of a Hawk. He's about 50" wide, plasma cut and welded steel.

New art quilt pattern in the works "Empty Nest!"

Using a post Holiday burst of energy I was able to create the vector files and finish writing the instructions for my new patterns "Kitty-Kitty Chickadee!" and "Dog-Gone Pup!"

"Dog-Gone Pup!" is a 21" wide x 14" tall Wall Art Quilt. Next step, both patterns are off to the pattern testers!

I was flattered to have my metal wall sculptures included in an article titled "At Home In The Office" by Mara Severin in the 2010 Winter edition of Alaska Home Magazine! The article features the professionally elegant office space of Dr. Heather Sulte, DDS of Aspen Endontonics.

The week of December 6th -Finished the design for my latest Art Quilt Pattern "Kitty-Kitty Chickadee!" the finished size is 15" x 15"

"Kitty-Kitty Chickadee!" my latest Art Quilt pattern. I finished the design and now have to convert my art into a vector file for the pattern. After that I will write the instructions to complete the pattern, then turn it over to one of my trusty pattern testers! I'm working on 3 new designs for my Dog & Cat series... stay tuned!
